For the Dutch Souvenir Hella Jongerius chose her ‘Delfts Blue B-set’ as the starting-point. In this dinner service Jongerius combined old crafts-based production methods and a high-tech, modern way of working. She added new pieces to her `B-set´ service and included decorative motives from traditional Delfts Blue pieces, which are painted by hand, embroidered or applied by means of transfer or mill grooving.
For the Dutch Souvenir several pieces of the Delfts Blue B-set collection are scaled down to the size of dollhouse tableware; small and large cups, plates, bowls and jugs. The small cups are individually hand-painted with flower ornaments; other pieces have transfers in gold and blue.
A small golden handle is attached to the mini-jug referring to the original that has a bronze handle.
In total nine pieces of this little dinner service are the fragile porcelain pendants of a charm-bracelet.
